the wind up bird chronicle

I finished this book just recently (maybe 2 weeks ago) and I couldn't stop thinking about it so I decided to encapsulate my experience by writing about this on my blog.

i need to figure shit out

10:13 PM

I'm sorry for being hiatus (again). I really wanna sit down and write a post on this blog but I just don't have time and motivation yet. You also might notice that I haven't post much on instagram either. I really have no idea and inspiration currently, which is also why I haven't been drawing anything lately. I tried to pick up my pencil and sketch something but it always ended up in crumpled paper. I still go on tumblr a lot just because it is easy for me to access. It felt quite overwhelming, now that I had a day job and a part time teaching job on Saturday. Although this is pretty much what I wanted to do after my college 'phase' ended, I still feel like I'm not ready to be independent yet and be an adult at my job. My day job on weekdays doesn't pay much, but I enjoy my time there. I am able to explore a lot of facets of myself through communicating with very diverse group of people at my office. Yet, I still feel like I don't belong there. Being inexperienced and the youngest in that office gives me a hell load of pressure. Everyone had an amazing story behind their career up to this point in their life, and here I am--just starting my page, have zero fucking clue about what I want to do. I definitely need to climb my way up there harder than anyone else, because I want to show them a tangible proof that I am actually capable of handling bigger things and be responsible about it. I have so much to deal with my life right now, though I'm not sure where to start. My mind wanders way too often whenever I don't do much, so I can only hope to finally figure things out.

Whenever I feel like I can't take this life anymore, my best friend will always be there to get her ears ready to listen to all my woes. We usually start by talking about my problem and then ended up discussing about something as random as starting a pudding factory business. Bless her.

Because I constantly feel overwhelmed with my job, I haven't have time to read my new book. It's called Strange Weather in Tokyo and I hope I can start reading it tomorrow because it sounds like something I would enjoy very much.

Anyway,

Have a good life.

ultimate way to spend valentine's day

Valentine's day might not be everyone's favorite holiday to celebrate, but it's one day where you can totally be excessive with pink color, floral scent, and heart shaped everything! So don't be sad because you're single and friendless (like me lol), you can still be festive in your own way without flower and chocolate. Who says you need someone else to make you feel special? You are the only one who's authorized to make you feel amazing.

The simplest way is to do something that makes you feel empowered and happier. For me, I'd wear my favorite perfume, put on a cute blush, apply some color on my lips, draw a cute cat eyeliner, and swipe a couple coats of mascara! I'd choose my eyeliner and mascara brown though because it's sweeter and less harsh than black
Even if you're not much of a makeup person, go ahead and scribble your textbooks with pink colored pens! I mean there are no rules, really, the only guideline is to have fun with yourself and indulge with what you savor the most! Make yourself feel better and don't weep because you're alone. Romanticize yourself, because no one else would love you better than you.

Happy Valentine's day! I love you :)

save the honey bees

I decided to show you my all time favorite encyclopedia about bees here because I want to share a little bit about them. Not many people are aware that bees are very important in our environment's cycle. Why do you think we still have life here on earth? One of crucial reasons is because humble bees provide our sources of food and also adorned our planet with beautiful flowers.

cute things i want

I'd skip Valentine's day because it means nothing to me, but my birthday is around the corner so I thought to make a list of what I wish people/myself could give to me if money wasn't a problem. To be honest though, I don't care about gifts on my birthday lol but it would be nice to get something because I never get anything I like anymore ever since I turned 16.

Crosley CR8005A-TU Cruiser Portable Turntable
Specifically in blue/orange. I never want this technology until one day, I came across the authentic tune coming out from it at a flea market near my town the other day. The record played was Pet Sound by The Beach Boys and it was beautiful. Vinyls can be hard to find but the challenge to find a gem is very intriguing to me. I used to think this is only for hipster jackasses but now I want it. Maybe I had turned into one of them...*shudders*
bkr Water Bottle
I always prefer glass bottle over plastic ones, but the ones I ever used before were crappy and the screw lid was made of metal and it gets rustic very quickly. This one happen to have a very cute design and silicone cover too. Also, they have lavender color choice so it's totally up my alley ♫
I Think I am in Friend Love with You - Yumi Sakugawa
I never see this book in any of my local bookstores, so I might order this online. Yumi Sakugawa's artworks are so adorable and ironic at the same way. I love me some good coffee table book that's actually worth the read. There are a couple more of Sakugawa's works that I want to look for, but this one is the one I've wanted for a while.

new products, books, little anxiety

I've done quite some shopping lately out of impulse because I clearly didn't need new makeup to cram in my small storage. I don't have any particular 'theme' of what I wanted to buy, but I knew I've wanted to try these stuffs for a while and I thought why the hell not splurge and use some of the leftover monthly allowance I accumulated to get them. The Three Cosmetics Flawless Ethereal Fluid Foundation (I strangely love the name!) has been on my list to try. It's a Japanese high-end brand (price point is on par with Chanel, YSL, Dior, etc), but what makes it a different high-end brand is because they use 99% natural ingredients. I haven't try the product yet but I think I will enjoy using it. I bought Aesop Aromatique Hand Balm to replace my old hand cream and Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder from Nars because I want it. No other reason.

mini review: MAMA BUTTER(ママバター)BB cream

I got couple requests on my instagram to put a review about this new BB cream that I got from a brand called MAMA BUTTER. I found out about this brand through my favorite youtube guru, Friedia, when she hauled some stuffs from Japan few months ago. She's actually one of very few people I watch on youtube when I want to seek advice/tutorials since her videos are well edited and she's so articulate when presenting the topics! If you want, I will make a post of my favorite youtube channel so you can be as inspired as I am. Anyway, back to the BB cream, here's what I thought.

10 favorite reads of 2014

This is probably a very very late post which should be up before the year changes, but I thought I'd still do it nonetheless since I feel like sharing some good books I've been really enjoying in 2014. I realized I probably read less than 20 books last years because I was always too tired to read after classes (I hate tired excuses), but I think 10 is a fair amount to share out of all the books I read.

(not in any particular order)
